Kurash athletes across South Africa are gearing up for the highly anticipated Kurash South African Championships 2024. Scheduled to take place on May 18th in Johannesburg at Reddam House (1 Chattan Rd, Zevenfontein, Midrand). This prestigious event promises to showcase the best of the nation’s wrestling talent.
With the collaboration of Tatami Dojo, athletes from across the country will compete in this ancient Central Asian sport. From seasoned veterans to upcoming talent, competitors of all ages and backgrounds will come together to test their skill and compete for the title of Kurash South African Champion.
In addition, this tournament will also serve as trials for African Championships 2024 scheduled to take place in Swaziland at the end of July. Fighters will clash with the best of Africa’s Kurash athletes for the title of African Champion, and a shot to qualify for the international prize tournament “World Series Pro” which is an international tournament held in Uzbekistan, birthplace of Kurash, for the prize of the president of Uzbekistan, and will take place in the final quarter of 2024.
The stage is set and the competitors are training hard. Kurash South African Championships 2024 promises to be a spectacle not to be missed, as athletes write their names into South African Kurash history.
